2 days in and i’m lovin’ the school nook. i moved the cd player into the area and we listen to music and dance. the alphabet on the wall actually helps them to find their letters they are looking for and keep those pesky b’s and d’s straight. the boys each have their reading charts up so that they can see their progress through lessons. we have a tray on top of the stereo that keeps each of the cups of crayons, glue, scissors, pencils, and markers straight. and we’re actually using our map almost daily now. that’s for another post. i have a white board and a chalk board. and i think one of the biggest hits is the clothes line with colored clothes pins. all the kids love them hanging in the air and like to see their work displayed. and, hey, it keeps little and even littler hands off of them! i did realize i need to add a number line and i really want a time-line up soon. so expect those in the near future!

so, so neat! i’m way impressed!
Kendall has in her room, clotheslines straight across one wall that holds various work she did throughout the years too!!!
I love it,too cool!!!
Oh BTW,is this your previous dining area?Trying to picture it…
Love it. You are very fortunate to have a whole separate area for school. Ours is just at the kitchen table, so everything gets put away every day, which is a slight pain. I like the clothesline idea: my fridge is getting kind of overloaded.
Oh I love it!!!
I really like the clothesline!! Aren’t you glad you went and bought that needless stuff from Dollar GEN?? And that is cool how it can stay out of little hands too…just what you need!
I want a nook like this! It is so fun!
I love the clothes line too! Can I bring homemade mini cup cakes over!?!? LOL
love the clothesline. so cute!
robin- you had me laughing so hard!!
you can only bring them over if you agree to a bmi measuring of all children in the house!!
k.t.- it’s right in front of the laundry room and the kids’ area – looks out the back sliding doors (you know, tempting them to all things outside!)
tami- thanks for stopping by!! i made mine in a little spot outta the way after trying several different places.
maury- shh! you’re not supposed to talk about the dollar general shopping spree!
No go on the BMI sista!!! You have to let them go to public school to get all that done! I am serious.. they do that thanks to Ole HUCK! LOL
What a GREAT place to learn! You may sense a little envy on my end. LOL
Oooh. I really do like it. What’s it supposed to be? A formal dining room? What a waste!
