the other day my hubby and i were watching mythbusters and they were testing ninja myths. they made this goo that amazingly he nor i had ever heard of before. cornstarch and water. a non-newtonian fluid. VERY cool. anyway, after daddy played with it for FOREVER we turned the kids loose with it outside. i got a day and a half of quiet while the kiddos loved it. they experimented with more water, less water, letting it dry out completely, and on and on and on. we watched the show together and talked about properties of liquids and solids. awesome stuff!

Wow! How cool is that? One of those times when I wish I was closer and could share in all the fun, daily things that go on in the life of a family - blessings always!
I saw that show and all I could think was, “I want to play in a huge vat of goo too!” I am so jealous of your kids.
Too cool.. saw that show too and I’ve yet to go buy some corn starch! It’s on the top of my list along with the baking powder I need for the sugar cookies I swore I’d make with madison lol. (she doesn’t realize her mommy loves to cook.. hates to bake!)
it’s great when learning is so much fun! - and i just love that picture of your parents looking at josiah with that loving look! makes me miss them, too.
hmmm we might have to try that. It sounds like they had a great time! Are there specific specs or just add a little water to the cornstarch and food coloring?
Okay, so I just watched the show on our DVR - it was hilarious! I loved it when Adam was trying to walk on the big floatie things he made and he kind of tripped and said (after coming up rather awkwardly), “if I had any dignity, that would have been really humiliating”. Hee hee. I’m still chuckling. And the cornstarch thing was really cool - Mike is gone tonight, so I think I might have to test it out. =) (Yes, by myself - just like the time a friend and I went to the Children’s Science Museum and joked that we would just pretend that the kids around us somehow belonged to us. =)) Still chuckling….thanks Sue!
We tried the goo today. munchkin loved it. Little Man wasn’t so sure. I was thrilled with how quickly it cleaned up too! Fun fun!
