i caved
and started watching jon & kate + 8. many of you have asked me if i watch it. no, not really, i’ve seen it once, kinda.
so, i cried “uncle” and recorded it. yep, i love it, just like y’all thought i would.
except i can’t watch it at night like i normally watch my shows. here’s the catch. although my chaos is still no where near their chaos, it is eerily close. and, in all honesty, i can’t take one more second of crying, screaming kids once mine have gone quietly to their beds. no mas.
so, to solve this conundrum? watch with my kids. that’s right, my 3 olders love it. beg to watch it. maybe there’s comfort in knowing there are other little people that are as mistreated as they are. maybe there is comfort in numbers.
then, again, maybe it’s because they get to see that mama may be crazy as a betsy bug, but, oh, look, there’s another mom as insane as mine.
case in point, my oldest just told me, “that mama said, ‘today i may very well lose my mind’ - that’s why i think she’s like you.”
My kids LOVE that show. We all sit down together and will watch episode after episode. That was, until, we cut off the cable. And they said, “does that mean we will never get to watch Jon and Kate plus 8″? Yep, I miss it too. I loved that we all sat down and watched it together. The kids talk about “Kate” just like they would “Ms. Suzanne, or Ms. Robin” They keep asking if we will ever get to meet her! The day we went and ate with Becky they kept comparing her to Kate b/c she is about to have 8 kids too, and short hair. They are so funny! Clay on the other hand, doesn’t like to watch it b/c he hates all that whining, and also, he can’t stand to listen to how she hollars at her husband. And I kinda agree sometimes….but sometimes it is funny! (she says stuff to him that we sometimes wish we could say! LOL)
Oh we watch that too! Dalton has even learned what buttons to push to find out if it is on or not.. Note that they numbers are worn off the keys on our remote and you can’t see the them! She was so excited when she discovered that they were one DURING THE DAY TIME!!!!
My biggest grandboy - I agree that Kate and your mom are alot alike. Both of them are doing a great job raising their kids and they don’t mind saying how they feel. Love ya, Granna
