Four Month Super Hero

4-months Four Month Super Hero

Surprise!

“Kenaniah sings a good song.”  This is what my 2 year old sang to my belly joyfully before TheFinalist came into this world.  After he joined us, BigMan’s chorus turned into a shaky “Him like me, Mama?”  Followed shortly by a more steady, “Kenaniah likes me, Mama!”  And now is a daily “He’s a fweetie pie, Mama.”

TheMiddlest says his favorite poem is “‘Niah, I love you.  Love you…  I do, it’s true!”

TheOldest said recently, “You know, if he was a super hero he could make bad guys good. That’s his superpower – sweetness. He could look at bad guys and make them think, ‘I need to shoot the bad guys.’”

And MyPrincess told the boys she was going to marry that sweet baby someday.

**********

He smiles now more than he doesn’t.  He’s still more ticklish than any baby I’ve ever met.  When I rub his little bare back or belly he just squirms – so cute.  He coos and talks all the time.  He loves playing with his daddy and adores the attention of all these little people that love him so.  We put him in the exer-saucer the other day and he likes it pretty well until that big ol’ head gets tired.  We tried the Bumbo seat, but we’re not quite ready for that.  We held him in front of the mirror the other day and he was all about it.  Couldn’t get enough of himself.  I understand.  We can’t get enough of you, either, little guy.

He still seems to be having some issues when I eat dairy, but it seems to be lessening already.  He still has a little bit of goopy eyes, maybe from the clogged tear ducts, but the massaging of them really seemed to help.  He’s started grabbing at our food at the table when I’m holding him.  He’s about a once a week pooper – only one of my other ones did this.  It’s great, except he seems to be choosing our one day out in town as THE day for it.  Thanks, little man – I’ve learned to pack 3-4 outfits for our trips into town.  He found his toes briefly the other day.  And has shown some back arching, wiggling moves that precede that roll over accomplishment.

He’s got the roundest head ever.  From that first drive home from the hospital right up to this day when we drive in the car his big squishy cheeks jiggle.  Too funny!  He loves his toys now, and loves that same little soft blanket square with the paci attachment – he likes to cuddle it in his swing when he drifts off for his catnaps during the day.  He drools all the time he’s using the same teether fish that each of the others have used.  THE best teether we’ve ever found.  How many times can one little toy be boiled, sanitized, and passed down to the next?

I’m still wearing him everytime we go out.  Still love the Moby wrap, but have now graduated to the Ergo (he has more head control) for those short trips in and out of stores.

Four months.  So much fun.  So very fun!

In love with a baby! What an awesome feeling! I love the pooper once a week line,, can totally relate! I couldn't believe it was possible as the others I've had pooped all.the.time. Then I had Jehu, and I've been in love ever since:) (even thought he's obviously graduated from the once a week time, lol) I've actually managed to stay fresh as a new flower in love with him the longest, before it changes to a deep and steady unshakable forever kind of love, like the others.I'm relishing it, every squishy cheeky moment :) Something about being a finalist, hey:)

    I'm officially a Slacker-Mom…totally forgot a 4 month post! Oh well!

He really is a cutie, and you're right about his litlle round head. Connor's was that way…Brian called him Charlie Brown :)

4 months is fun, isn't it?!!!

Lol, yes, if I remember correctly, it did smell more. I could tell by the smell whether he was getting enough liquid or not, and I could smell whether or not the kids had given him anything dairy-ish :) He was 99 percent dairy free, and any milk product gave off a sweet milky smell within hours (lol)
