A Little Ridiculousness For Your Monday

On the way to Granna and Grandad’s for our Easter fun the other day Matt broke out the rap music.  Baby is a fan of rap.  First he danced (hands in the air, hands in the air) and then he sang.  Fine moments.

Making Progress Here and There Just Not Everywhere

This is TheMiddlest and MyGirl talking one morning.  Yes, she’s drinking from a sippie, what can I say?  She’s always been a little tall for her age and the other day a gentleman in the store stopped us and asked if these two were twins.  I smiled.  They could be couldn’t they?  I assure you, I remember every second of TWO pregnancies and births to argue otherwise.

I’m still having site issues on the back end (the admin panel is broken it will only let me post occasionally and from certain computers in the house.  If you would like me to talk technicals with you in order to diagnose my problem I would love to, please just leave me a comment and I’ll try to email you back with the particulars.  It’s just so many words and most of them I don’t even understand.)  So, really, there is very little progress here.  I keep intentionally taking the whole thing down and reinstalling one little thing at a time to see what is wrong (me on the design side) and Matt is feverishly working on the server side to figure it out, but so far I have no idea what I did so very wrong.  How could I have done something this wrong?

MyGirl is a hugger and likes to hang on people while talking to them.  MyMiddlest is the same, but not so much with his sister.  He tolerated her for longer than I expected this day.

Some of the particulars include an error log that is perplexing.  It shows some IP addresses hitting my site WAY too many times in a minute.  I may be growing in popularity but I assure you I am not getting 30 different people from one company site looking at my humble little blog in a minute.  So, is that a spam bot?  Do I have a script looping somehow that is just making it look like my site’s getting that many visitors?  I’m getting error messages and certain pages are timing out sometimes and from some computers, but not all the time and not the same pages consistently.  So, that makes it hard to add links, linkies, and photos from time to time.  I never know what is going to work or when.

When they quit arguing long enough to look at each other and really listen and laugh they have a good time.  Much like we should do with our own enemies, right?

While I’m here only intermittently I would like to tell you I was supposed to host the Tri-Moms Recipe link up this week.  But I couldn’t.  At the time I couldn’t even get on here to post without hosting.  So, please go to Kristin’s (this week’s host) and Kathi’s and see some of their quick and cheap recipes.  For my own: check out my Recipes and my How I Do What I Do section.  Also, if you’re still not currently on Facebook, but would like to keep up with me and play “I Spy Junk Drawer Photo” games and such (like, you may have missed my children’s mohawks and “high and tights”) now is the time to join Facebook and “like” my page.  I’m there nearly all the time, since I can pop in, say hi, and not have to fight my way through talking to y’all.

He had finally had enough and just after this picture shrugged her off and went on his way.  But these photos of the two that fought so hard and so consistently for years proves to me there is progress being made.  They may just admit how much they really do like each other some day.  Progress is slow and hard fought sometimes.

I seriously had wondered about continuing on with the blog.  I mean, really, I’m just exasperated and don’t I talk enough over at Twitter and Facebook already?  Then, I thought, no, I like my well thought out posts.  I like my pictures.  It’s kind of like a magazine to me over here.  The others may just be snippets of my life (and really you get more of my whole picture life on those two platforms) but here, you get my inner thoughts.  My worked out worries.  My published joy.

So after reading all of your sweet comments (one stood out in particular to me “don’t worry–i’ll still be a loyal reader whether it takes you a minute or a month to get your site working again.” – wow, warms my heart, and do I know you, dear reader? or are you a quiet lurker?)  And how very many of you stepped out of the shadows to help me or just encourage me.  I do have friends!  And I love y’all!  And you are the main reasons I will persevere and overcome and get this thing rolling again.  Because Rome wasn’t built in a day.  And my two middlest children didn’t start out as best buddies, but I have hope.  I have a vision for the future (for my children and this silly little blog).  And I have the wherewithall to keep on keeping on.

Let Them Laugh!

Sweet Shot Day

The Signs of Spring

Are abundant!

And Oh! So Welcome!

Soccer, Squeakers, and Screamers

Last week the big Duck, Duck, Goose consignment event came to town.  And I found squeakers for the Baby.  I’ve loved the little squeaker shoes from afar, but this time I actually had a baby the right age and second-hand shoes at.the.same.time.  Oh the joy!  Besides the cutesyness, I love that I know where he is and if he’s still and quiet for any length of time.  Because that’s important you know.

Also last week when we went to the St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown the boys had the forethought to throw the soccer ball into the van.  I, in all my wisdom, thought when they tossed it in, “I don’t know why they’re bringing that, there’s no place to play with that downtown.”  But thankfully this time I kept my mouth shut.  And sure enough, when we got out at the fountains (which are not on just yet) the kids grabbed the ball and went to playing.  What a great idea!

Of course, Baby is in full “MINE!” phase so in addition to the chaos of the soccer game and squeakers you also get the near constant scream that can only mean “no one is being fair to me, fix it NOW!”

Oh and you get a fall down at the end, just for good measure.
