Yesterday while watching Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving and Snoopy served toast, popcorn and candy, Bigman said, “Mama, can we go to Snoopy’s house soon?”  Oh the innocence of that boy!

And this morning I overheard BigMan and TheOldest talking, a question was asked of TheOldest and he responded, “I don’t know, you need to ask Mama, she knows all about the Bible, she’s actually read it.”  That alone made me smile, but then BigMan came over and asked me his question.

“Mama, why does God want to be a’visible to us?”  I answered him that I thought that God was allowing us to believe in Him and trust Him without seeing Him for a time.  That someday we’ll be able to see Him and there won’t be any question about Him being real, but for now He wants us to love Him, trust Him, believe in Him without seeing Him.  “Oh, okay, Mama.  I still think we could stack a bunch of clouds and climb up high and then say ‘Hi, God!’”  Oh, his innocent heart is just too much for me!

BigMan came and crawled into bed with me yesterday morning and heard a cricket outside.  In his sleepy voice he said, “I like the sound of that.”  And then after I explained it was a cricket and a minute or two of listening to it he said, “Is it singing to us?”  I smiled and whispered yes.  Then I explained how crickets make their pretty little sounds.  He sat there listening and thinking and then said, “Yeah.  That or they have these little music instruments that they play.”

I like his version much better than mine.

She made one for me and she was very pretty.  She agonized over each detail “Are these eyebrows like yours, Mama?”  “Which eyes do you like best for you?”  “This hair looks like your hair.”

When she got through she named her Mommii.  And wanted me to see what she had so lovingly created.

She was beautiful.  I told her so and smiled and praised her abundantly.

And then giggled to myself.

She was fat.  And not just a little.  Like a whole lot.  While I was still laughing over my mii (which for the record I have LOST 2 pounds in the last week thankyouverymuch!) she created a new guy.

And my 3 year old BigMan said, “Hey, that looks like the dude on American Idol who said, ‘I’m gonna shoot this straight to the moon!’”  I looked and cracked up!!  He did!!

And then my girl saved him and called him “Dad”.

Oh good grief.  Just never mind.

She came back with her boots and said, “I wrote ‘Mama’ on the bottom of them like Woody has ‘Andy’ on his.  Because I belong to you.”

And the only thing that could make that any sweeter is that she wrote it phonetically.
