This sweet boy turned 3 this week. But he’s had such a fever for days that we haven’t gotten a “classic” BigMan smiley picture of him. I was so sick the night before his birthday that we didn’t get to do our traditional last minute Birthday cake and present shopping trip together. I had big plans. And then I got big sick. I called Matt home and he took the four olders out for me to rest. He gave this sweetie pie just what he deserved – a big toy shopping trip, a park playdate, ice cream in the van, and kid meals with toys. They all had a blast and then crashed hard when they got home. Happy Birthday, my 3 year old BigMan, you light up my life and keep me on my toes!
And then the next day it hit. A category 4 stomach virus. It took out 3 kids like dominoes. We’re still praying that TheFinalist and TheOldest stay well. And that Matt skips this all around.
I went into survival mode. I’ve posted how I handle a stomach virus with several kids part 1 and stomach virus part 2 before. Matt ran to the store for more popsicles (no PediaPops to be found, c’mon, local stores, my family alone would keep you in stock) and more Sprite.
I know it’ll be okay soon, just know that in my absence there’s lots of littles soothing, movie watching, and laundry washing going on behind the scenes.
