After having flip outs about what we were going to be for Halloween this year and worrying about that uncarved pumpkin on my counter, what do ya know, but Halloween came, offered up unholy amounts of candy, and left my 2 year old saying, “I want to do Halloween again.”
It turns out I am the same girl I was in high school. I want everything to be perfect. And I want my next project to top my last one. But having a baby 3 weeks ago (and four other little people) throws a wrench in all that stupidity. So, Daddy, as usual was our pumpkin-carving knight in shining armor.
Then we dumped the dress-up buckets and had the kids figure out what they wanted to be (and when TheMiddlest said he wanted to be a Jedi – his daddy went to work on his costume – yes, he did!).
Then we wrapped TheFinalist up into the Moby wrap and told people that he was dressed up as a fetus and we went trick or treating.
And then off to Nana and Papa’s for the final leg of the adventure.
And as always, we had happy, sugared up kids by the end of the night. And if you think there wasn’t a witching hour of 5 people crying and screaming over everything on the way home, then you have the wrong family in mind!
I hope your Halloween was just as sweet (and carefree)!
