Children’s Book Tuesday: Love Song For A Baby

It’s here!

We have so many books.  It’s ridiculous, really.  And let me tell you right up front, I’m terrible at going to the library.  Like, never happens.  That would require me to get a card.  Keep up with a card.  Get a bunch of people ready.  Go there.  Keep up with a lot of people while picking out books.  Then I would actually have to keep up with the books and keep them from getting peed on or something and then actually get them back there on time.  Or find the change to pay them.  Too much.  It’s just too much to ask of me, really.  So the books you’ll see here are from our personal collection.  As you’ll be able to tell – they are what I like to call “well-loved” .

This week I’m going with a book that I’ve owned since MyOldest (now 8 years old) has had since he was a baby.  It’s a beautiful book to read to your newborn.  My toddlers have always found it boring, but then come back to it around 3 0r 4 and want to have it read, want to know if Mama and Daddy really felt that way, and if the pictures were of them.  So sweet!

Beautiful words, beautiful pictures, timeless.

And now it’s your turn!  Have your Children’s Books post ready including a link back to this post and then enter your name or website and your specific post URL.  That’s it!  And we all get to blog hop and see each other’s favorite books.  I can’t wait!

I don’t have a web site to do the bloggyhop, but one of my favorite books as a child was a series of story books about Raggedy Ann and Andy (not the original story) about their adventures with soda fountains and other woodland creatures! They were probably really old already when I was younger, but I still remember them to this day, and haven’t seen them since! I have still the Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that were made for me when I was four, and I even did open heart surgery on my Andy doll just to see if there really was a candy heart… :)Wish I could find that set of books again!

We had a storybook of Raggedy Ann & Andy. Seems like it was a black book with them on the outside. It was about their woodland friends. Wish we still had it, too.

I LOVE children’s books! I was reading a review of some book or another the other day on Amazon and the reviewer said ‘We love children’s books. We must have over 40′. I just laughed. I had at least forty before I even had kids! I have nearly all the ones I had growing up and I still mourn a few that I gave away or lost years ago.

I didn’t have time to take part this week, but I promise I will join in after the Disney World insanity is over.

I am loving the book hop.
It is interesting to see what is shaping the young minds in different fams. There is something exciting about the joy of a good children’s book(from the perspective of a Daddy).
I hope you continue to do this one regularly.

Nice! My son loves to read a book. He loves colorful books. He don’t like reading books without pictures. I am thinking did he really understand my reading or he just want to see the pictures inside the book.
