Kristy’s comment on my last post made me realize that some of y’all might not know that I really am selling these dolls. These, above, are the nakeds that I made for Sugar-n-Spice. I make clothes too. As the name, “Dress-A-Dolls” would indicate. Which by the way, MyOldest named for me! I sell the doll alone for $7. And outfits for $10 apiece (unless, of course, you request something outrageous like, say, JarJar Binks that would require much more thought and effort. Then I’m uppin’ them thar prices a dollar or so!) I designed the dolls. I design the clothes. They are a combination of machine and hand stitching, though will hold up to machine washing, pen and ink drawings, and much play. They are flat – think Flat Stanley or paper dolls. Made of non-tested, non-cpsia approved, though, thought to be non-toxic materials in a smoke free, however, pet and kid laden home. They measure approximately 8 inches across and 9 inches tall. The clothes go on them like regular clothes, and are fairly easy for smaller hands to fold the material over and put the clothes on them.
Examples of some of my past dolls are found here (the obi wan and darth vader ones that I made Maury’s son) and here (the darth vader I made for my own boys), and the early versions (with anakin, batman, and the matching dress to MyGirl’s homemade dress). I, somehow, in the Christmas craziness rusharound, didn’t get pics of the different boy and girl outfits that I made for Sugar-n-Spice.
So, to sum up: I hand-make these dolls per request. If you were to buy 1 doll and 1 outfit – that would cost you $17. One doll with 2 outfits will cost you $27. Two dolls + Two outfits = $34. And so on. If you want a huge order, I can make you a deal. I can make them in any shade and either gender according to your liking. I can make Star Wars and Super Heroes and if you mail me specific material I might could make you a doll to match your daughter’s (or son’s) own outfit. They are not tested, but I consider them safe enough to let my own children play with them. I do not have a money-back guarantee. Comment or email me and I’ll work out the details, such as how much shipping would be. I do not comply with the CPSIA safety standards, which by the way, has been given a one year stay – you can read about it here! These are mine, please don’t steal them, sell them, “borrow” them, or in any way copy them.
Whew! All that to say, “I’m For Hire!” Spread the word!
