i love a schedule

i love my lists and routines.  right down to drinking out of the same coffee cup every morning.  having precisely 2 cups of coffee back to back in the morning.  you get the idea.  so the weekends and holidays throw me for a loop.  my husband is an anti-schedule person.  not like doesn’t make his own lists, like HATES my lists!  so i drop most all schedule when he’s home with us.  he takes this to mean that i don’t like it when he’s off work.  far from it – i love it.  i just enjoy my scheduled time!

so,  that’s why i haven’t blogged or commented regularly in a good while.  my honey has the public school schedule (for the most part).  and in addition to that i’ve been trying to keep up with the new blogging thing.  and we’ve had strep.  and now my 4 year old has what i think is an abscessed tooth.  we haven’t officially done school since before thanksgiving.

and so today is a clean slate.  and we get to try out a new schedule.  i’m so excited!  we’ve said for a while that my oldest really needs more of a routine.  he’s made very much like me, and so today we’ll begin!  i spare you the details of the schedule (i’ll save that for another post!), it does sound rather complicated with all of us, but it’s roughly what we’ve been doing just more deliberate.  and i’ve tweaked the type of schooling i’ll be doing.  most notably for the oldest, again.

so, routine here i come!  you know, except for the emergency dentist appointment!  ;)

and keep me in mind – i’m going to try to drop my nap again.  ugh.  and you know how i love me some naps!

may your back to school schedules be as exciting to y’all as it is to me!!

Not so much here…LOL,I prefer my babes to be out of school, but they LOVE IT!

My hubby is not big on schedule either,it mostly affects us at dinner time….I will have something set out and ready to cook and he will say “Let’s go do this and then we end up eating something else-it drives me CRAZY.
Poor boy,I have a current impacted abcessed wisdom tooth-so I know it is NO fun.
Let me know if you decide to go that dentist clinic we talked about last time, the one that I ended up taking Kyla to down here,I actually liked, well all except they only take children on specific days at specific hours-which happens to be during work and school….

I love lists and schedules too. I redid our white board in the kitchen to reflect our regular activities yesterday and when Jason wrote something on it I had to erase it because, you know, his handwriting stinks and I like it neat, and he didn’t use the right color for the right kid! That’s the kind of thing that bugs the heck out of me! :) Here’s to a nice relaxing scheduled back to normal week!

I like to think I like being scheduled….and I do. I love having my calendar figured out and knowing what we are doing when. But, I loved having my Munchkin home from school, staying up late and getting up late to. We go back to school tomorrow. She is so excited to get back and back into the routine we go. I will be busier than I have the last 2 weeks!

We’re starting back today too, and I’m so looking forward to it. My oldest has been acting out quite a bit over the last week, and I’m sure it has to do with a lack of routine and schedule that she’s used to. I’m convinced that kids thrive on predictable routines, whatever kind of routine it is! Wishing you well as you begin yours!

You know me.. scheduled and routine almost to a fault. I did love having Madison home for two weeks though. We had NO schedule and it actually went really well for the first time ever. I think I was just more relaxed about it. I just enjoyed the kids. Now, if I was like that every day of the year nothing would EVER get accomplished.. but every now and then I think we all need a break from being so task oriented. Today it did feel good to get back on track, though. Laundry is done (almost), the kitchen is clean (sort of), and I have plans to vacuum.. it’s as good as done! ;)
