still picking up the pieces

it’s been a doozy.

thursday morning what i thought was a minor stomach disturbance turned out to be a category 5.  so sick i actually asked my husband to take off work to help.  but my parents rescued us both and came to watch the kiddos while i laid in the bed and thought i just might be dying.  i do not exaggerate.  okay, maybe just a little.  but not very much.  i even taught my oldest how to redial his daddy on the phone if something happened before my parents could get here.  even told my mom to pick up a bottle on the way here (i still have the bottle of formula from the hospital – for those of you who don’t know i have used a bottle approximately 3 times in 4 children.  when it comes time they go straight to a sippy cup.  it is possible to nurse completely exclusively [i don't pump] and have a life – if you wanna know how contact me) just in case something went terrible wrong.  and it almost did.  i almost dehydrated.  kidneys hurt.  no pee.  but i nursed my youngest on through, and just in time my body started holding down fluids.

so how much housework did i get done?  yeah.

so then friday when my honey was feeling a touch of what i had he stayed home.  and i got to cleaning.  didn’t make a dent in it.  and then when i started feeling a little better and his didn’t hit nearly so hard we decided to get out of the house.  for the first time in forever we treated the kids to a day out.

we showed up at the movies just in time..  for my girl to puke all over herself outside the van.  what to do, what to do?

i told my hubby to take the boys on to see “underdog” and he told me to take my girl shopping.  yea-yah!  so to target me, the girl and my baby appendage went – after much cleaning with wet wipes.  i bought her a new outfit, new princess shoes, and new bling-bling paci.  (i’ll revisit this trip later.  so much about it blogworthy)

side note: it was just the heat and a girl that reacts to everything by throwing up. our sickness was apparently (after much discussion of what who ate and when and what the kids didn’t eat) the barbecue chicken.  thank goodness it was not a pandemic!

more on this amazing weekend to come in following installments.  because yes, it continues.  and it was all that blogworthy.

It’s kinda weird how we were just talking about “stomach stuff” on the phone the other day. . .

I’m glad you didn’t die, what with just getting to know you and all :).

Happy to hear that you’re on the mend. How are the kids? How’s Pearl’s job search going?
