My Pregnancy In Numbers

my pregnancy in numbers

this is my 4th child in 4 years.
when this baby is born i will have a 5 yr old, a 3 yr old, and a 1 yr old. within a month, i will have a 5 year old, a newborn, a 4 year old birthday party and a 2 year old birthday party.
i have had 5 periods since december of 2000 – 6 years.
when the doctor asks me when the first day of my last period was, my answer will be, “june 2004.”
in six years i’ve been pregnant a total of 28 months so far. that’s roughly 850 days of my life. so far. by the end of this one it will be 64 months = roughly 1,934 days.
i’ve nursed a total 40 months so far. that’s 3 years and 4 months. i hope to nurse at least a year, probably more since it will be my last so that will be a minimum of 52 months, 1,466 days.
but, it’s just life to me, it doesn’t feel like it’s all that crazy until somebody in the grocery store says, “geez, you’ve got your hands full, don’t ya?”

You sound like me! I got preggers with the first child in July 2000 and gave birth to our 4th child in June 2006! I hear comments like that ALL the time! We get used to what we need to, don’t we? But I wouldn’t change it for anything – despite the chaos! They love each other fiercely and fight dirty when mama isn’t looking! :) Thanks for your blog!

I think you are very lucky, and very blessed.
I personally DISLIKE when people make those comments to me in front of my children.
They are good kids, and my HEART is full—but not too full so God can feel free to bless me some more. I’m greedy like that! What a great post. My 4th killed off my math brain cells so I cannot even figure out all that for myself. I like how your brain works. Love reading your blog.

To answer, “you have your hands full don’t you?” I would say, “Yes, I have been so blessed with a full quiver.”

Oh how I can relate to this. I’d go to my first prego appt, and the doc would ask when my last period was. Say…five years ago? Yup. I gave birth four times in just over 5 1/2 years. Every time I quit nursing, I did so because I was pregnant and too exhausted to continue nursing while pregnant. When our last child stopped nursing, and I been pregnant and/or nursing for over 8 1/2 years straight. No joke. OVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR EIGHT AND A HALF YEARS pregnant, nursing or both.

If you didn’t know that about me, you’d be able to tell by looking at me without a bra on. ;) Rocks in tube socks. Oh my.

Want to hear a funny inappropriate story? Okay then! The first baby, I used a boppy and two pillows to nurse. The second baby I just used a boppy. The third baby I just held propped in my arms. The fourth baby? I could lay him flat on my things and nurse…without hunching over. Oh how my husband and I laughed at the changes in my body. It was HI-LARIOUS. Yup. Pretty much. :) Hope that makes you smile or makes coffee come out of your nose or soemthing like that. ;)
