his was made while i was pregnant with my third baby, because i didn’t know if i was having a boy or a girl. so i made his and hers at the same time.
up close. 2 ginghams, yellow flowers, and that’s bumblebees if it’s still hard to see. as you can tell, i specialize in imperfect. i’ve finally embraced it as my personal style. yeah, that’s it, it’s my style.

for maury, who keeps asking, and i keep putting it off. i tell myself it’s because i don’t want to brag and show off, but good grief, what else is this blog about if it isn’t bragging and showing off?! so here it is. i kinda finished it on time for the trip – i ran out of the thread i was using, but it’s functional anyway, and i was able to keep my promise to my sweet boy.
here’s an up-close of the blocks. and while i’m all-out bragging i guess i’ll take the next few posts to show the others’ quilts. you know, in the name of fairness to my children – never in shameless showing off!

June 27th, 2007 if you haven’t read especially heather you should. i think you’ll find her uplifting and will want to lift her up. God is using her in incredible ways and she can always use more encouragement.
she’s half-way through her radiation treatment and is throwing a blog party. you should go here and add to the comments and let her know where you’re from. and link her. because you never know who else is supposed to know her story.

yesterday i was brainstorming how to keep the boredom away for my kiddos and do something fun for me as well. so i made these very crude dolls with interchangeable outfits. i haven’t finished them, but i didn’t want to go to a lot of trouble if my kids were gonna go, “oh, huh, a doll.” let me tell ya, they slept with them, named them, and i had to promise to give them right back in order to get pictures of them. i’ve done it. i’ve beat boredom, at least for a few hours anyway!
here’s all 3, they’re reversible and we’ve already talked about the seasons, by dressing them appropriately, and learned planning, design and art because the boys have decided they need spidey suits and batman suits, and oh, oh, mama, we must have darth vader. and mama, they need faces that we can change and hair and sunglasses… i’ll be a little busy until these get old, i think!
here they are with their current outfits. i still have to run a seam around the clothes to keep them from unraveling and the kiddos want their clothes to stay on so i have to go buy velcro.
here’s a picture to get an idea of the size of them. (just ignore the stained dinosaur jammy shirt – it was not worth the fight.)
