number four

has arrived, as most of you already know!  for those of you who don’t - he came on his own the morning we were scheduled for an induction.  i started having contractions at 5am and he arrived at 11:31am.  7 pounds 11 ounces.  and i don’t remember how long he was (i know i’m a goof-ball, but does it really matter now?).  i kept waiting to post until i got pictures on here, but somehow i can’t manage to get the camera and cord out of matt’s car and actually hook it up.  so, pics will follow at a later time.

i’ll address some frequently asked questions and then move on to other news.

-yes, he’s absolutely healthy.

-yes, it was pretty easy, as far as labors and deliveries go.

-i’m doing fine, thank you for asking.

-yes, zoloft is a beautiful thing.

-no, he’s not really a fussy baby – and like number 3 he actually sleeps better in the middle of the kitchen with all the craziness around him than in the quiet bedroom.

-no, we’re really not getting much sleep, but c’mon, this ain’t my first rodeo, it’s not like i expected anything different.  and i’m actually not much more tired than i normally am – i do have 3 others that wake me up frequently, y’know.

-all three of the others just love him.  amazing.  my only stress is telling them to not touch his head, wash your hands first, don’t wake him up to hug him or give him a peanut butter kiss on the mouth.  they can’t get enough of him.

-no, it’s not much more work than before.  i still keep with – once you have 2 the hard part’s over.  for me, numbers 1 and 2 flipped my world upside down and numbers 3 and 4 just had to get in line.  i do say, “you’ll just have to wait” way more than i ever thought possible.  they’ll either grow up to be extremely patient adults or they’ll never want to wait on anybody again and spend many years in therapy.  plus, we just have to wait to see what his personality will be – right now he’s just a slug.  loveable, but a slug.

other news - my girl can jump with both feet – too cute!  the house is awesome – more than i could’ve ever hoped for.  i love watching my 5 year old ride his “two-wheeler” (bike) and my other boy race him on foot all around the yard.  my girl pushes her babies in her stroller on the back deck.  it’s absolutely beautiful.

we have a mini-van!  i will save this for another post.  it truly deserves a post all its own – the story is too good!

my mom and dad came down and stayed the first week and my honey’s had spring break all this week so monday will mark the first official day home alone.  i’m actually kinda looking forward to it.  i’m gonna start back with some homeschooling – and that will be great for everyone – more structure for me and jonah won’t be so bored, aka driving me crazy!  i’ll let ya know how that’s workin’ out for me after a few days!  (i don’t have very high expectations!)

thank y’all so much for all the prayers and well-wishing – i can’t wait for y’all to see him!

i think i’ll stop now, save some stuff for future posts and go have a little dinner!

leave of absence

as you all probably know by now, we’ve had dsl issues.  that’s besides the computer sitting on the floor issue.  but, i’m back, baby!  at least temporarily…

i’m scheduled to deliver tomorrow.  that is if i don’t go tonight (like i did with my last baby!).  and i’m throwing up today – so the food bringing shindig will be post-house buying and post-baby having!  maybe we can aim for summertime and then we’ll be in true form outside-cooking, kid-playing, me-paranoid-with-a-newborn-over having.

the house is great!  as i said before the house was 95% finished.  and that’s awesome… i just didn’t realize how big that 5% would be with me being absolutely incapable – it’s so hard to be dependent – but that’s another lesson learned and a post for another day.

i feel ready for the baby.  (it’s a good thing, huh!?!)  we got the house not only functional, but even pretty.  all of his stuff is put out.  now if my nerves would settle about the actual hospital visit…  i’m not sure which is worse – your first child that you have no idea what’s coming or your 4th when you know EXACTLY what’s coming!  just pray for us tonight and early tomorrow.  mandy (peace and craziness) said she would post pics and the update on her blog for me and then we’ll have the official post here when i can find my way out of the hospital and back to the ‘puter!

i’ve been missing you guys while i’ve been away and i’m looking forward to posting when i get back into the swing of things again – at least i’m guaranteed many new topics for posts for a good while!

wish us luck and pray for us – and be sure to swing by mandy’s site sometime this weekend!
