Well you came and you gave without takin’
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
for all you wondering, mandy is keeping me accountable. she’s bugged me about not posting for days. i couldn’t get my husband away from the computer (not that he was posting either!). so, now that he’s on the phone, i jumped at the computer!
this is gonna be my completely random posting. i have days worth so i’m just gonna give snippets. bear with.
my dryer still doesn’t work. a month. i have a new bug infestation in my closet in my kitchen. did i mention the dryer? there are 5 of us in this family. i’ve worn out all my “can i use your dryer, AGAIN” folks. so now it’s laundromat time. me and my 3 younguns in a laundromat. THAT is gonna be post worthy, i can go on and tell ya now.
i think the bug infestation is a nice way of saying, the dead critter in the wall is now going the way of most dead things and, well, do i really need to enlighten you further? let’s just say, the critter smell is waning and the crawly critters are goin’ alookin’ for mo and better food. it’s fixin’ to be battle time in me ole kitchen. i will win.
so, there’s the complaining. as i was wallowing today, i thought i need to refocus my thoughts and praise Him. so, i thought, what do i praise for amidst piles of funky clothes and maggots in my kitchen…
these are a few of the things i’ve seen answered since we moved in only 2 months ago…
we have our own house.
it’s so cool.
the kitchen sink now works.
the dishwasher works. no more dishes in the bathtub.
we have a microwave.
the scratching in the wall stopped.
the smell from the scratching is starting to go away.
the dishwasher is not leaking.
we have cell phones.
they are so cool!
we have a computer.
it’s an apple – and is so cool!
we can afford candles to battle what’s left of the funky smell.
i can fit into size 6 jeans.
i can afford to go buy size 6 jeans.
and some pretty nifty t-shirts too.
i can afford the glade smelly-good that plugs in AND has a night-light!
we have a home phone.
we have a cordless phone. it’s an amazing thing to be able to walk around the house and talk on the phone.
i have a blog.
i know enough about computers now to have a blog.
we have a small group in our own house.
we are already planning to get a tv, dvd, and dish network in the next week or two. i’m that close!

i have a job as children’s ministry coordinator – it’s good to do something outside the house AND i get paid for it!
the money for my position just doubled!
i’m getting a “read my blog” shirt.
my 4 year old can color inside the lines. and write his name (backwards, how cute!)
my 2 year old says, “oh, nap” (imitating his father who says, “oh, snap!”)
we can afford the light up light-sabers. oh the joy from watching battles in the dark between the boys!
my girl is SO close to walking! she can stand in the middle of the floor alone.
my parents actually miss the kids.
my dad. my dad. my dad.
it could keep going, but i’ll save them for future posts.
thank you, Father, for the life more abundant. it flows all around me. the gifts are constant and make me smile as i look back over them.
so, where’s your list?
